Japanese utilities Tokyo Gas and Kyushu Electric Power have become the latest Asian LNG buyers to form a strategic alliance to cooperate on purchase and transportation of liquefied gas.
The tie-up is part of the current wave of Asian buyers joining forces in an apparent bid to press home the competitive advantage bestowed upon them by the shift in power away from sellers amid a looming global surplus of LNG.
