Malaysia's state-run Petronas will start commercial operations at its first floating LNG project, the 1.2 mtpa PFLNG Satu facility, next month as part of plans to expand liquefaction capacity in the coming years, the company said at the Asia Oil & Gas Conference event in Kuala Lumpur this week.
PFLNG Satu will focus on producing and liquefying gas for export from the South China Sea, local agency Bernama reported, adding that its launch will give Malaysia a total liquefaction capacity of 32 mtpa, equal to 44 Bcm/year of gas.
