Italian midstream specialist Snam has snatched key gas pipeline and LNG infrastructure in its home country in a EUR 225 million deal with compatriot Edison, on the back of securing a major credit line from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The acquisitions are part of Snam’s strategic vision to turn Italy into a gas hub for southern Europe by developing the country’s gas system and making the network more "secure, efficient, flexible and interconnected”.
