Since he took the reins at Sonatrach in March 2017, Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour has given every indication that he intends to execute big changes at the state-owned oil and gas giant. Indeed, the need for change in Africa's largest company is clear. With an economy critically dependent on hydrocarbons, and declining oil production combining with low prices, Algeria desperately needs to maintain gas exports, while at the same time meeting the growing needs of its domestic gas market.
