LNG supply saw a year-on-year increase of 4.15 mt (6%) in Q2 ‘18 but was slower than the growth of 5.93 mt (8.1%) seen in the first quarter of the year. A slowdown in the second quarter of the year was anticipated, as operators of LNG plants often use the shoulder months between the winter heating season and the summer cooling season to carry out scheduled maintenance. However, more scheduled maintenance than normal was undertaken and unscheduled interruptions to supply added to the loss of output this year.
