Chevron has invested in nuclear fusion start-up Zap Energy, a Seattle-based company seeking to develop scalable and commercially viable modular nuclear fusion technology. The investment is part of the US oil major’s plans to invest in a “diverse portfolio of low-carbon energy resources” with the potential to provide “affordable, reliable, and ever-cleaner” energy, through the global energy transition.
