Considering that natural gas is caught in the middle between environmentalists for whom it is anathema and those who champion the role it can play in the energy transition, there is much anticipation, not to mention concern, among LNG market participants over what will be agreed at the upcoming 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) event taking place in Glasgow between 31 October and 12 November. Decisions stemming from the conference are likely to significantly impact the future of LNG, industry sources tell LNG Business Review.
