Latin America and the Caribbean could reach several energy milestones in 2024. Among them, Mexico, which will elect a successor to outgoing president Andrés Manuel López Obrador in June, is set to export its first cargoes of LNG using feedgas from the US. In Argentina, the planned reversion of the North Gas Pipeline could open up the possibility of gas exports to Brazil, where Petrobras anticipates that its long-delayed Route 3 pipeline from the pre-salt Santos basin will be completed.
