Gas is expected to maintain its share in the EU energy mix in the coming years and price signals are helping the case for LNG in the bloc’s energy union strategy, European Commission policy officer Monika Zsigri said at the Informa LNGgc conference in London on Wednesday.
EU is expected to import more gas in the coming years, including growing volumes of LNG, she said. EU LNG imports rose 6% year on year in 2015 and accounted for 13% of all gas imports that same year, she added.
