Qatar Petroleum studying LNG debottlenecking for North Field exports

Qatar Petroleum has hired Chiyoda Corporation to look into debottlenecking the capacity of Qatar’s LNG trains in Ras Laffan Industrial City to process additional quantities of gas to be produced from the planned new North Field gas project in the Persian Gulf.

The study is expected to be completed by year-end, allowing QP to kick off front end engineering and design work early next year – “if it concludes that this option will achieve the optimum value for the State of Qatar,” the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
