Floating LNG

Floating LNG

Floating LNG (FLNG) is the use of purpose built or converted ships to enable regasification of LNG (and liquefaction) to be carried out offshore. FLNG has the advantage that LNG production and importation can start more quickly than could happen onshore, where lead times are often lengthened by the local approval process. It also enables the processes to move location to satisfy short term demand.
