Gazprom exports hit record high amid EU cold snap

Gazprom exported a record high volume of gas to this week, with flows to international trading partners totalling 621.8 MMcm/d on 8 January, a slight gain on the previous all-time high that occurred days earlier, the Russian giant said in a statement.

"We have reached a totally new level of gas exports in conditions of a cold snap, lower extraction volumes in Europe and higher demand for gas on the energy market," Gazprom's CEO Alexey Miller was quoted as saying over the weekend.
