Shell targeting aggressive LNG development as part of growth strategy

With its major Qatari gas projects – Qatargas 4 and Pearl GTL – now ramped up and in full delivery mode, Shell is aggressively developing new LNG ventures as part of its strategy of pursuing future growth opportunities. So said CEO Peter Voser today as he and CFO Simon Henry announced the company’s second quarter results in London. Gas-to-chemicals, gas-to-liquids and LNG-in-transport opportunities in North America also feature in the strategy of a company that this year, for the first time in its history, expects to produce more gas than oil.
