Even with economic growth slowing, China is steadily increasing its imports of gas, both in pipeline and LNG, and in 2017, China was a significant importer of US gas. In fact it was the US’ third largest buyer, importing around 15% of LNG exported by the US that year, around 2.9 Bcm of US-produced gas.
