Oil & Gas UK, the trade association for the UK offshore oil and gas industry, has said in a report that the Government’s current plans to meet its renewable energy targets may cost consumers more than if gas was relied upon to a greater extent. The report stresses “the recognition given to gas should be heightened in all longer term energy projections.”
