Total plans to delay raising its stake in Australia’s 8.4 mtpa Ichthys LNG project from 24% to 30% until the second half of 2012. Chief executive Christophe de Margerie admitted on Monday that he was “too optimistic” when the original deal with Japanese project partner INPEX was announced last month and an estimated date of “just weeks” away was given.
