Maputo is looking to conduct a pre-feasibility study to transport gas from Palma in the north to “markets in Mozambique and Southern Africa”, the ministry of energy announced recently, as part of plans to monetise the country’s vast natural gas resources for both domestic use and regional export. The outcome of the study will influence negotiations on future LNG developments.
