Management Assistant to the CEO

Gas Strategies has an opportunity for a business management or energy sciences graduate to join the team in what should be seen as a fast-track development opportunity for an individual who is interested in furthering their career as an energy industry, consulting-services professional.

This role initially, will involve working directly with the CEO to support the achievement of business delivery and Gas Strategies’ management priorities, through effective management, review and coordination of plans, activities, meetings and people. For the first 9 to 12 months the role will be responsible for a variety of business development and support related activities before moving into the consulting team as a full time consulting professional.

Part ‘executive assistant’ and part ‘apprentice consultant’, the successful applicant will gain exposure and insight into the operation of an energy consultancy business. This will require someone with a commercial background that will include a business-related qualification or experience, some project management exposure and will need to be combined with a curiosity and interest for the natural gas, LNG and gas-to-power sectors. This role will suit a graduate with some business experience with a relevant business support focus, someone who also has a predisposition and aptitude for consultancy.

The successful candidate will be given the chance to develop their practical consulting skills and knowledge of the sectors we operate in by working on and with the people involved in demanding commercial projects for major industry players. This will require someone with the following types of skills:

  • Exemplary people skills to support working with a diverse range of people
  • Communications, including presentations, proposals and various business communications
  • Prioritise a demanding, varied and flexible workload
  • Proactively coordinate the CEO’s time and business agenda, meetings and travel arrangements
  • Work with Consultants to shape, prepare and review proposals and other materials

The core tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Support the CEO to deliver his business agenda, supporting him with the preparation and planning of daily activities, client relationships and management work
  • Work with the Management team to plan and coordinate the delivery of the business agenda
  • Engage with the Consulting Managers to improve the workflow of consulting work for review
