Direct Energy, Centrica’s North American subsidiary, has completed its purchase of the Wildcat Hills Unit, 35 km northwest of Calgary in Alberta, with the acquisition of Shell Canada Energy’s stake for C$47million in cash. This will give Direct Energy a 100% working interest in the Wildcat Hills assets and gas processing facilities, which it has been operating since October 2010. The transaction is effective from 1 January 2011 and is not subject to regulatory approval.
